Yep totally copied some people on this little quiz about my favorite person in the world… but oh well… here it is

1. Name/ Age? Jaimen Alan Flinders, a year and a half
2. Birthday? August 29th
3. Time of birth? 8:04 am
4. How long did labor last? No labor, scheduled c-section, Jaimen was breach in my belly and we tried to turn him around, but he’s stubborn
5. Who was in the room when baby was born? Alan
6. How long did you push? Never… But I could feel them pulling him out and then he was sucked back in, then back out again. I could also feel them cutting me, its a really weird feeling. Actually I am smiling as I am describing it because its amazing.
7. Weight? 5lb 15 oz
8. Length? 19 ½”
9. Any hair? Lots of blonde stuff, surprisingly thought he would be bald.
10. Who does baby look like? Ummmm, you tell me, its quite apparent, Alan.
11. Be honest...how much weight did you gain while pregnant? I gained 25lbs. I know everyone else wanted to loose that baby weight, I am sure I am the first person you’ll ever meet that wished that weight would have stayed, never been so happy with myself, than when I weighed 25lbs more. I loved loved loved my prego body, everything about it. Especially the boobies
12. Did you get sick when you were pregnant? Yes the first couple months, just twice a day, and I had heartburn like no other everyday for 4 months, and the leg cramps were the worst! Oh yeah and go figure I would get gestational diabetes?? Where’d that come from. So that sucked couldn’t eat carbs… had to watch everything I ate for once in my life and poke myself 4 times a day the entire pregnancy.
13. Was the baby early or late? He was scheduled one week before due date. So on time?
14. Who drove you to the hospital? Alan drove me there when he got off work at 6:30 in the morning, and I had been up since 3:45, couldn’t sleep knowing this was going to happen.
15. How many baby showers did you have? 3.. 4.. yeah 4 I have momnesia give me a break.
16. When did baby start sleeping through the night? It wasn’t till 6 months because I was breastfeeding so he needed to get up and eat. Some nights he’d sleep longer than others, but consistently about 6 months.
17. Did you breastfeed? Yes, that was awesome!! My body only allowed me to do so for 6 months, but I would have done it as long as I could. Jaimen was a natural and it didn’t ever hurt me, he just took forever to eat.. like in the middle of the night ½ hour to 1 hour…zzzzz.. wake up mommy.. I also loved the boobies, I really think those should stay
18. Who takes care of your baby/kids the most? Well me and Alan do, but he goes to daycare every day, I do have to work full time, as does Alan. Wish I was lucky enough to have a day or two off with him, but unfortunately I’m not.
19. When do you want to have another one? Our “plan” was to space them about 2 ½ years 3 years apart, for our sanity, so I think we will start trying in May, but ask me on a bad day and the answer is Never!! If I was rich, and could afford to have work off then I would have 4 kids, but Alan will only allow me 2 so the sooner we have another, the sooner I am done, and don’t get to feed my baby hunger ever again.
20. How did you pick the name? My brother was talking about a friend a couple years ago and the name stuck with me because it was so different, and we just loved it.
21. Anyone spend the night with you the first night home? Just Alan and the dogs
22. Did you cry the first time you held your baby? Hell yes!! I cried as soon as they pulled him out of my tummy and I heard him scream, I was so overwhelmed it was the sound of heaven to me, to hear him for the first time.
23. Where was the baby born? McKay Dee… Insurance makes you go where they want you to go.
24. Did you video tape the birth? No, I wanted to watch the c-section, but then kinda chickened out, so my Midwife said the next time we can get a nurse to video it for us. It has to be another c-section, and its rare for people to video that, but I want to see it.

Hamburger??

This afternoon I was on my lunch break and was going to take something back and return it to Pier 1 in Riverdale. As I was pulling into the big Riverdale shopping parking lot I saw a man, (homeless or just in need? maybe neither) lying on the grass with all his stuff tied together.After I returned my stuff and had a lengthy conversation on "being green" and conservation, I went and bought this man lunch, and told him to have a nice day.

He was thankful and a little surprised, but not to surprised because not long before I gave him lunch someone else had dropped off a Starbucks Coffee to him, at least I think someone gave it to him. If I were given 5 dollars there is no way I would go spend it all on a Starbucks, in fact I have 5 dollars and I am not wasting it on that, that’s like a luxury to me and its not even that good. Maybe that is what some homeless people do when they get 5 dollars, they buy a Starbucks, instead of whiskey.

Anyways I just thought I would write about my little good deed I did today, and hopefully someone else can pay it forward after reading this. Just say Hi to someone you don't know, make their day. I know that when I am walking in a store and a stranger smiles and say’s Hi, it makes me so much happier, puts a perma smile on my face like I just “got some.”

ThE ZoO Is A ZoO

Is there ever a time when you go to the zoo, and everyone there isn't acting like complete idiots, like they have never seen a monkey before? Its funny to me how we act every time we see the monkey's or the elephants actually moving.

I took Jaimen to the Zoo on Tuesday and honestly not as much fun as my little mind makes it out to be, and I am sure I will just keep on doing it. It used to be so much more fun, probably because the last time I remember it being super fun I didn't really care what other people were in my way and why, and I wasn't pushing a stroller that doesn't fit around people like I would like it to.

I want to know who liked the layout of the Hogle Zoo before they put in Asian Highlands. I know it is much much better for the animals themselves now, but where the hell did the Lions and Tigers go, and the Hippo went to Wisconsin? Why can't we have the Hippo? Also now if there is a chance that the Snow Leopard is in humans sight, everyone at the zoo seems to be standing against the 3 ft glass to peer in on him.

However the Leopard was pacing the glass Tuesday, and we got a really cool pic of him, and he seems so much happier than being in that cement cage.
The Zoo has just changed since I was a kid, the layout is different, the animals never seem to be in view, and where did those fun machines go that we would beg our parents to make a wax elephant or tiger?? I also finding myself feeling really bad for some of the animals, like we are just there staring at them and they are laying there like "Oh Great here come those bratty kids, yelling and tapping" Do you think animals talk? I do.

Hop Hop Hoppy Easter

Jaimen's 2nd Easter, and it was so much fun! He found some eggs in the house and as soon as he would see them, he would act very surprised. So silly!! He loved it so much, we had to keep hiding the eggs over and over, and make it more difficult. We also found the Easter Bunnies Eggs outside but I am so smart I forgot to push record on the camera. Duh.. Jaimen got a super cute argyle polo shirt and a tennis jacket, that makes him look like a ladies man. He loved his mouse basket although he thinks its a monkey, and he loved his peeps, I don't know how you can't. The best part by far was when he saw the first egg and figured out that this was a hunt, I will remember his surprised awe every year at Easter!

My favorite Easter memory is when I was little I remember coloring eggs in the trailer with all our camping friends, and then finding them the next morning after the Easter bunny hid them for us. I haven't colored eggs for years, but this year we did with Jaimen for the 1st time and I just remembered how much fun it was and how that will stick with me for life. I hope I can create and help with Jaimen's happy memories forever.
